1) Read the Qur'an

It doesn't matter if you can't read well, you don't read, you can't read the characters at all, you can read with tajwid flawless and all, just read! if you can't read, listen to the Qur'an. the Qur'an tells us to listen to the Quran ("Listen to it with attention...that you may receive Mercy") so why not? its the least form of 'ibadah ('ibadah=NOT just solat, sembahyang, etc). why not?? you can just follow along all those readers of the Qur'an, and you get rewarded. Its easy! try it. just type in "surah an-nas" or surah al-ikhlas

2) Pick up litter

Just pick the litter up, from the mrt, roadsides, wherever you maybe, and throw it away. there is amal soleh for you. no good deeds in ramadhan go unrewarded, no matter how small or how unimportant you may think they may be

3) Prayer,

the point having 5 prayer times a day is for you to rest, stop, and think about God. so be it you have not been praying all the 5 prayers before ramadhan, but do try to make an effort to do so! :) no good deed goes unrewarded :) so try to pray alright

4) Terawih

if reading the Quran gets huge commendations during Ramadhan, then go for the terawih. by the end of this holy month, you'd have prostrated (bersujud) to your Lord a total of 667 times. SIX HUNDRED TIMES. the reward is boundless.

5) Respect the holy month

this is Ramadhan after all, when we're supposed to control our nafsu (desires) from all and sundry. from the temptation of going clubbing, hanging out with friends doing nothing, going dating with the other partner. respect is the word. control your desires. the gf/bf you've been with is not going to perish into thin air after one month. if you cannot get what you want in Ramadhan, then surely Allah has something better in store for you, insyallah!

6) Zikir

it doesn't involve carrying a tasbih and shaking your body till it looks like its convulsing or something. nope. just say "allahumma firghli dhunubi (allah forgive my sins)" will suffice. even if your sins fill up the WHOLE earth twice and you ask for pardon you will be pardoned. its not hard. it's not hard, and certainly Islam is not difficult either. do spread this around to your other friends as how i've got it from another.please. its the month of Ramadhan. Kiamat is getting nearer, death may be beating at our doorstep, and our deeds are only half baked. Allah reward you for the message sent.

ramadhan kareem~
